Last week, World’s End Press shared their new single ‘Tall Stories’, along with news of a Tall Stories EP. The good news continues to roll in this week with the announcement of a Tall Stories EP Tour for early October.
‘Tall Stories’, the song, was premiered by UK based site The 405 on Thursday. The soon-to-be dancefloor favourite offers the first peek at the band’s forthcoming EP release of the same name.
“With the approachable vibe of LCD Soundsystem and Hot Chip, but with a more brooding edge, ‘Tall Stories’ is the soundtrack to late night creeping through the famous alley ways of the city the band were spawned. This is intelligent dance music at its finest.” – The 405, UK
Tall Stories, the EP, sees World’s End Press carry on from the forward momentum of previous single ‘Spirals (Slide Away)’ which burst from the airwaves all summer long, received a plethora of online love, and saw the band edging into a sweatier, grittier, clubbier realm.
Due for release on September 25, the EP is the result of a summer misspent in studio lockdown, with the lights off and the PA turned up far enough to blur ones vision. This finely crafted, meticulous body of work sees dancefloor jams like the EP’s title track ‘Tall Stories’ complemented by epic yet slinky club bangers in ‘Love Tears’. Its five tracks touch on themes of crossed wires, self-deceit, enigma and unconditional love, with beats to drive you out seeking answers in the night.
Tall Stories, the Tour, launches on October 3 in Perth, then takes in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide. World’s End Press are already well known for their visceral live sets. Indeed the band have just joined the family at UNDR ctrl, nestled comfortably amongst artists like Roland Tings, Total Giovanni and Bag Raiders. Tickets for the tour are on sale now.
